“Behind the Brow” is an exhibition displaying the letters and personal documents of beloved Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. This exhibition, although theoretical, was designed for the National Museum of Mexican Art, located in Chicago, Illinois.
This exhibit shares Kahlo’s personal life in a way not many have ever experienced her before. Kahlo’s letters to family and friends are displayed along with a timeline to give viewers an idea of her overall life. Other personal artifacts are displayed, such as her casts, painting tools, and dresses, with tags and labels in both English and Spanish to accommodate the people within the Pilsen neighborhood.
